What this layout shows

Watch the line that returns Empty Canisters to the water packaging step.

How it works

  1. Take Heavy Oil Residue out of Crude Oil, and fill Empty Canisters with Water.
  2. Make Diluted Packaged Fuel from the residue and the Packaged Water.
  3. Unpackaging the Fuel hands the canisters straight back.
  4. Return the Empty Canisters to the water packaging step so the same canisters keep going round.

Results compared with the standard layout

These are not fixed illustrative figures: they are solved again on game data 1.1.x every time the static pages are generated.

The template was solved against a baseline with every alternate recipe disabled, using the same target. Read the change in raw resources together with the change in production power.

MetricBaseline → templateChange
Crude Oil 180.00 → 45.00 m³/min 75.0% less
Water 0.00 → 120.00 m³/min Newly used
Production power 90.00 → 141.02 MW 56.7% more

Power covers the production buildings and the fuel chain; extraction machines are not included.

Raw resources the template needs

Raw resource required from outsideRateUnit
Water 120.00 m³/min
Crude Oil 45.00 m³/min

Notes for building it in game

  • Hand-feed one loop’s worth of Empty Canisters before you start it up.
  • Once it is circulating you no longer have to produce canisters, so build the canister supply belt so it can be disconnected.
