What this layout shows
Watch the line that carries Water from the Battery step back to Alumina Solution.
How it works
- Prepare Alumina Solution from Bauxite and Water.
- Make Sulfuric Acid from Sulfur and Water, and produce Aluminum Casing on a separate branch.
- Making Batteries from Alumina Solution, Sulfuric Acid and Aluminum Casing returns Water as a byproduct.
- Merge that Water back into the Alumina Solution step and use it again.
Calculated at build time
These are not fixed illustrative figures: they are solved again on game data 1.1.x every time the static pages are generated.
These figures come from solving this template at build time.
- Battery: 60.00 items/min
- Production power: 1,093.42 MW
- Production and power buildings to build: 18
| Raw resource required from outside | Rate | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Iron Ore | 375.00 | items/min |
| Water | 330.00 | m³/min |
| Copper Ore | 315.00 | items/min |
| SAM | 120.00 | items/min |
| Coal | 45.00 | items/min |
| Raw Quartz | 15.00 | items/min |
What the loop reuses
Water that appears as a byproduct of the Battery step and of the aluminium refining upstream is returned to the Alumina Solution step. The figure below is how much circulates across the whole line without being pumped in from outside.
Byproduct Water reused across the line: 135.00 m³/min
Where the circulating Water is produced
- Battery: 90.00 m³/min
- Aluminum Scrap: 45.00 m³/min
Notes for building it in game
- Fill the pipes with outside Water on start-up, then switch over to the return line once Batteries are coming out.
- Battery production stops as soon as the return line backs up, so leave slack in the pipework.
- Draw on the circulating Water first and top up from the Water Extractors only for the shortfall.
